Ducati PS 1000LE and Sport 1000 Fender Removal

The new Ducati Sport Classics are gorgeous bikes, but... Regulations never fail to cause cosmetic damage and in this case the result is the nasty rear fender/taillight contraption.

After staring at this for quite some time and doing mods in my head it dawned on me that the taillight assembly will probably fit upside-down under the seat. Minus the fender. The idea was too tempting to resist and so I pulled off the fender, test-fit the light and saw that it would indeed work perfectly.

What remained is to find a way to mount the license plate. I initially considered just using industrial Velcro to stick it to the battery under the seat, but the legality of this is iffy at best. So I designed a bracket and had a few made...

By popular demand the bracket is now available as a complete kit. The kit includes the bracket, the base plate, stainless hardware and plastic spacers. The bracket and base plate are laser cut and powdercoated. All parts are in stock and ready to ship at Palatov Motorsport. The kit is a direct bolt-on, no drilling or modification of the frame is needed. I will take some better pictures of the bike when I have a chance but the ones below should give a good idea of what it looks like.
